Stakeholder’s Workshop organized by Constanta Maritime University

On the 13th of September 2023, the city of Constanța played host to a pivotal event – the Stakeholder’s Workshop organized by Constanta Maritime University. Bringing together partners and stakeholders of the Black Sea Floating Offshore Wind (BLOW) project, the workshop provided a platform to discuss progress, share insights, and chart the course for the project’s future. The agenda was thoughtfully crafted, delving into various aspects of the project’s development across different work packages (WP).

Opening with insights from Rector CMU, Prof.Dr.Eng. Ciucur Violeta-Vali, the workshop commenced with an examination of legal intricacies and cross-border policy in WP2, elucidated by Prof.dr.eng. Panaitescu Mariana. The agenda then navigated through WP3, unraveling local geographical analysis and the design of environmental water sensors. In WP4, practical considerations of system assembly, deployment, and commissioning were discussed, laying the foundation for an exploitation strategy and replication roadmap in the Black Sea. WP6 delved into a multi-faceted impact assessment, incorporating analyses of Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). WP7 explored industrialization strategies and scaling actions, reinforcing the importance of an exploitation strategy. The workshop concluded by spotlighting WP8, focusing on dissemination, communication, and awareness-raising activities, including the implementation of communication strategies and the dissemination of project results.

The workshop organized by CMU served as a dynamic forum for the exchange of ideas, insights, and collaborative planning. As the BLOW project progresses, the active engagement of stakeholders and partners will undoubtedly propel it towards success, establishing a robust foundation for sustainable offshore wind energy in the Black Sea. The workshop not only provided a snapshot of the project’s current status but also set the stage for a promising future characterized by innovation, collaboration, and positive environmental impact.
